Darkening Light Brick Into Range on a Lynchburg Home
A few light units went up scattered through the brick on this Lynchburg home. The brick manufacturer paid to bring them into range rather than pull them out of the wall. The house was photographed again twelve years later and certified then.
2007
What was wrong
A few units came out lighter than the rest and went up scattered across the elevations. Nothing had failed. The range was simply wider than it should have been, and pale brick reads from the driveway. The brick manufacturer paid for the correction, which is who the file names as the customer.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed in by hand, darkening the light units until they sat inside the range around them. Only the brick that was wrong was touched. The file also records what did not follow: no sealer. The wall takes rain the way the untreated brick beside it does.

What twelve years prove
Same entrance wall, same courses, one range across it. On the certification scale that is Silver, which covers ten years and over. As of 2026 the work is nineteen years old, and the 2019 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 311, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
