Fireplace Brick Staining

Fireplace brick staining gives the centerpiece of your living room a permanent new color, usually in a single day. Most fireplaces run $2,000 to $3,000, the color never fades or peels, and because the work is indoors we can do it any time of year.

What can you do with a dated fireplace?

Usually the brick is fine and the color is the problem. Orange-red brick from the nineties, a patchy paint job someone regrets, or a tone that fights the rest of the room. Staining fixes the color without demolition, without drywall dust, and without covering the brick in a film that blisters next to heat.

If your fireplace was painted before, talk to us first; painted brick needs a different conversation than bare brick.

The chimney in 2007, manufactured stone in a uniform pale grey and white under a wide cornice, seen from below past a gutter line
Before, 2007: a lakefront chimney in flat grey manufactured stone.
The same chimney in 2021, the stone now a blend of brown, rust, grey and tan, running down past the eaves to the curved glass block bay below
After, 2021: the same stone, stained to a brown, rust and grey blend.

What does it cost and how long does it take?

You pick the color the same way our whole-house customers do: we test a small area on your actual brick and adjust until it is right. Browse brick stain colors to see what is possible, and if you are thinking beyond the fireplace, a full home brick color change works the same way at house scale.
