Correcting Patchy Brick on the Back of a Tipp City House
The brick on the back of this house went up with patchy areas that did not match the range around them. The company that made the brick paid to have it corrected in 1998. It was photographed again twenty-one years later and certified then.
1998
What was wrong
The file puts it in one line: there were patchy areas of brick within the range. Nothing had failed and nothing was dirty; some units simply went up off color against the ones beside them. The Hired by line reads brick manufacturer, so the company that made the brick paid to put it right.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed into the brick by hand, unit by unit, and not all in one direction: the file says the off-colored brick was lightened and darkened. The storyline names the back of the house, where the base color was lightened and white added to bring it into the range.
2019, twenty-one years on
What twenty-one years prove
The mark on the file is Platinum, which covers twenty years and over on the certification scale. Twenty-one years on, the back wall still reads as a range of brick rather than as one flat tone. As of 2026 the work is twenty-eight years old, and the 2019 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the house. This is the one for case 188, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
