The garage wing of the house in 2021, grey and cream brick around a shuttered window with snow on the roof above it

Staining a Garage Wing to Match the House on Tenor Way

The garage wing on this two-story house was laid from a different run of brick than the rest of it. The brick manufacturer paid to have the wing stained to match in 2009. Photographed again twelve years later and certified then.

2009

  1. The garage gable in August 2009 before staining, its brick a run with pink and red through it under a shuttered window, a sliver of the main house's grey and white brick at the left edge Before, 2009 View this photo larger
  2. The same garage gable on the same day in August 2009 after staining, the brick now a grey and cream blend against a clear sky, the front gable of the main house beside it in the same range After, 2009 View this photo larger

What was wrong

One house, two runs of brick. The file puts it in a sentence: the garage area was a different run of brick than the rest of the house. The main house is the pale grey and white blend at the left edge of the 2009 frames; the garage wing was laid as a run with pink and red through it. Nothing had failed. The brick manufacturer, not the homeowner, hired the correction.

What was done

Mineral stain on the right side with the garage, in the file's words, to closely match the left side. Both 2009 frames carry the same camera date, 18 August 2009, so what changed between them is the stain and nothing else.

2021, twelve years on

  1. The garage wing and the front gable of the house in 2021 under snow, the brick one grey and cream range from the upper window down to the pier beside the garage door, with the certification stamp in the corner After, 2021 View this photo larger

What twelve years prove

The 2021 frame steps back to take in the garage wing, the pier beside the door and the front gable next to it, one range of grey and cream. On the certification scale that is Silver, ten years and over. As of 2026 the work is seventeen years old, and the 2021 photograph is the most recent record on it.

The signed file

Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 386, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
