Adding Darks to the Range on a St Clair High School
The customer wanted more dark colors in the brick range on this school addition. The file records fifteen percent of the units stained dark in 2000. It was photographed again nineteen years later and certified then.
2000
What was wanted
The file records no defect. It records a preference: the customer wanted a few more dark colors added to the range. It was hired by the school itself, not by the mason and not by the brick company.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed on by hand, on fifteen percent of the units. Not a color over the wall: a few darks set into a range that was already there, so the elevation still reads as one blend. The phrase in the file is we could have done so much more but just adding the few extra darks helped a lot.
2019, nineteen years on
What nineteen years prove
Light brick with darker units carried through it, which is the range the file describes. On the certification scale that is Gold, which covers fifteen years and over. As of 2026 the work is twenty-six years old, and the 2019 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 224, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
