Taking Tan Brick to a Grey Tone on a Saginaw Home
The homeowners did not like the tan brick on this single-story house and wanted it grey or white. The brick manufacturer paid to have it stained to a greyer tone in 1997. It was photographed again twenty-three years later and certified then.
1997
What was wrong
Nothing had failed. The file puts it in one line: the homeowners did not like the tan color of the brick and wanted them grey or white instead. The brick manufacturer hired the correction, not the homeowner.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed on by hand. The correction on the form is one sentence: the tan brick was stained to a more grey-toned color. The storyline adds that with stain they could go any direction the homeowners wanted.
2020, twenty-three years on
What twenty-three years prove
The before frames carry a camera date of August 27, 1997, and the revisit frame is labelled 2020, the year the form was signed. On the certification scale twenty-three years is Platinum, which starts at twenty. As of 2026 the work is twenty-nine years old, and the 2020 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 335, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
