Staining Tan Piers Into the Red Wall of a Pickerington Store
This store wanted its look updated. In 2001 the tan brick piers across its entrance were stained into the red of the wall behind them. It was photographed again eighteen years later and certified then.
2001
What was wanted
Nothing had failed and nothing was dirty. The file records the reason as an addition or makeover, and the issue in nine words: they wanted to update the look of the store.
The business itself paid for it, not the brick manufacturer and not the mason.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed on by hand, unit by unit. The file puts the scope at more than ten percent of the brick, some of it stained more than once. The 2001 frames catch the work halfway across the entrance: one pier already red, the next still in its original cream.

What eighteen years prove
Same storefront, photographed again in 2019 and signed off that year. On the certification scale that is Gold, which covers fifteen years and over. The line in the file is short: still looks as great today as it did 18 years ago. As of 2026 the work is twenty-five years old.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 016, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
