Correcting Off Range Corner Shapes on an Ohio Home
The shaped bricks at the corners of this house did not match the wall around them. The company that made the brick paid to have them corrected rather than torn out. It was photographed again twenty-one years later and certified then.
1998
What was wrong
Nothing had failed and nothing was dirty. The angled units that turn the corners of the bay came out a different color from the field brick beside them. The file puts it in six words: the corner shapes were off-color.
It was hired by the brick manufacturer, not the owner and not the mason. A brick company decided the color of a finished house it had supplied was its own problem, and paid for staining over tear-out.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed on by hand, unit by unit. The file records color enhancing the shapes and the other areas that needed attention, so the walls still read as a range of creams and tans rather than one flat color.

What twenty-one years prove
Same house, same corners, and a range that is still the range it was mixed to. On the certification scale that is Platinum, which covers twenty years and over. The 2019 revisit was made from the kerb at the owner's request, so every frame from that year is shot at a distance; the file says so, and records the stain still holding up well.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 261, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
