The stained addition wall of the Florida house in 2021, its brick running in the same brown and tan blend as the original walls behind a row of shrubs

Staining a Florida Home Addition to Match a Mottled Blend

The addition on this Florida house went up in a plain red brick beside the mottled blend of the original walls. The homeowner wanted a better match, and the mason who built it had every brick on the addition stained in 2008. It was photographed again in 2021 and certified Silver.

Case No. 362
Structure Home addition, two-story house
Location Florida
Stained October 2008
Re-photographed 2021
Elapsed 13 years, Silver level

2008

  1. The corner of the Florida house in October 2008, a pier and low wall of plain red brick standing against the mottled brown and tan blend of the original walls, with an extension ladder leaning beside the windows Before, 2008 View this photo larger
  2. The low wall in October 2008 with labelled mixing cups and brushes set along its cap beside a stack of loose bricks, the red units below already carrying darker and lighter tones During, 2008 View this photo larger

What was wrong

The homeowner wanted a better match. The original house is laid in a blend, every unit carrying several colors, and the addition arrived in a brick that carried one. The file puts it in a sentence: not every brick is one solid color.

What was done

Every brick on the addition was stained, one hundred percent of it in the file's own count, and the storyline records that a lot of enhancements were needed to give the homeowner a great match. The during frame shows the method: mixing cups and brushes on the wall cap, loose units for testing, and the blend building unit by unit across the plain red.

2021, thirteen years on

  1. The same corner in 2021, the low wall and pier carrying the same brown and tan blend as the house above them, under a dark metal screen and behind low shrubs, with the certification stamp in the corner After, 2021 View this photo larger

What thirteen years prove

Same corner, same low wall under the windows, the addition and the original house reading as one range. On the certification scale that is Silver, ten years and over. As of 2026 the work is eighteen years old, and the 2021 photograph is the most recent record on it.

The signed file

Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 362, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
