Blending Out White Blotches at Crest Hill School
White blotches showed across the brick at this school entrance, and cleaning did not take them out. The school had the spots stained in 2007 to blend them into the wall. It was photographed again fourteen years later and certified then.
2007
What was wrong
White blotches across the face of the brick, which the file puts down to kiln scum. Cleaning had been tried first and the marks stayed. The school hired the correction.
What was done
Mineral stain brushed over the white spots to blend them into the wall around them. The file records that one step and nothing more: no color change to the elevation, no replacement of units.

What fourteen years prove
The file's own line is that cleaning did not remove the white marks and staining did. On the certification scale fourteen years is Silver, which covers ten years and over. As of 2026 the work is nineteen years old, and the 2021 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 391, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
