Staining Every Light Unit on a St Clair Middle School
Areas of light brick on this school did not blend with the range around them. The file records every light unit stained in 2000. It was photographed again nineteen years later and certified then.
2000
What was wrong
The file records no defect in the brick itself. It records a blend: there were areas of light color brick that did not blend well with the range. The school hired the work, not the mason and not the brick company.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed on by hand, on one hundred percent of the light brick. Nothing went over the units that were already in range, so the correction sits only where the light brick sat and the wall stays a range rather than a single tone.
2019, nineteen years on
What nineteen years prove
One red range across the corner, darker units carried through it, and no light patch standing out of it. On the certification scale that is Gold, which covers fifteen years and over. The phrase in the file is 19 years later this job is still holding up great. As of 2026 the work is twenty-six years old, and the 2019 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 225, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
