The brick front of the Rochester Hills house in 2019, reading as one even red and brown range

Repairing Power Wash Damage on a Rochester Hills Home

Power washing damaged the brick on this house while it was still being built. The damaged units were color corrected by hand in 1997 rather than cut out and replaced. It was photographed again twenty-two years later and certified then.

What was wrong

The file puts it in ten words: the brick on this home were damaged by power washing. Not dirt, and not a fault in the brick. The damage was done by the cleaning, and the part of it that could be put right was color.

Two boxes are marked for who hired it, the mason and the brick manufacturer. The homeowner box is not one of them.

What was done

Mineral stain, brushed on by hand, unit by unit. The correction on the form is all of the damaged brick were color corrected, so the work went where the washing had reached and nowhere else. The wall was never taken back to one flat color.

What twenty-two years prove

Corrected brick and brick that was never touched, in the same walls, twenty-two years on. On the certification scale that is Platinum, which covers twenty years and over. The phrase in the file is the staining has held up great, especially for 22 years. As of 2026 the work is twenty-nine years old, and the 2019 certification is the most recent record on it.

The signed file

Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 137, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
