Staining an Off Color Patch on an Ohio Medical Center
One patch of brick on this building did not match the range around it. It was stained into that range rather than replaced, and the building was photographed again twenty-two years later and certified then.
1997
What was wrong
A patch of brick on the building did not match the range around it. Nothing had failed and nothing was dirty. The file puts it in one line: there was a patch of brick that did not match the rest of the range.
The form marks the client as a business or corporation, not the mason and not the brick supplier.
What was done
Mineral stain, brushed in by hand, on the off-color units only. The wall around them was left alone. The line in the file is: we stained the off-colored brick to match the rest of the range.
2019, twenty-two years on
What twenty-two years prove
The mark on the file is Platinum, which covers twenty years and over on the certification scale. The storyline is written for restoration companies with small areas to fix: 22 years later and it still looks good. As of 2026 the work is twenty-nine years old, and the 2019 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 123, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
