Matching Two Runs of Brick on a Nashville Michigan Home
Two runs of brick that did not match were laid together on this home. The brick manufacturer paid to have one run color enhanced toward the other. It was photographed again twenty-two years later and certified Platinum.
1999
What was wrong
Two different runs of brick were mixed on this home, in the file's words. Nothing had failed. The two runs read as two colors in one wall, and the brick manufacturer hired the correction.
What was done
A test area came first. The two 1999 frames are one day apart: the marked test area on September 8, the finished wall on September 9 with the original test area arrowed under the soffit. The file records the base color and the dark enhancements needed to make a great match were added, bringing the one run toward the other.
2021, twenty-two years on
What twenty-two years prove
One range of brick across the whole elevation, photographed in the snow in 2021. On the certification scale that is Platinum, which starts at twenty years. The form was signed in 2020 and the certified photograph carries the file's own 2021 label.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed when someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 374, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
