Lightening Wrongly Laid Brick in a High School Courtyard
A couple of areas of this courtyard went up in the wrong brick. The school had the wrongly laid range lightened in 2011, and the courtyard was photographed again ten years later and certified then.
2011
What was wrong
The file records it in one line: a couple of areas where the wrong brick were laid. In the photographs those are the panels above the window bays, laid in the same orange as the field around them. The school hired the correction.
What was done
Mineral stain, applied to lighten. Taking a brick lighter is the harder direction, and the file calls this a good example of it. The wrongly laid range was brought to a tan; the orange field around it is the same in every frame.
2021, ten years on
What ten years prove
Same courtyard, ten winters on, the lightened panels still reading as one range against the orange field. On the certification scale that is Silver, ten years and over. As of 2026 the work is fifteen years old, and the 2021 photograph is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, filled in when someone goes back to the building. This is the one for case 382, transcribed beside the scan so a phone and a search engine can read it.
