Blending Off Color Brick Around a Grand Mound House
Several areas of brick on this house went up off color. The brick manufacturer paid to have them stained to blend with the rest. It was photographed again eight years later and certified then.
2013
What was wrong
The brick was off color. Nothing had failed. Some units ran outside the range of the rest, and on a garage gable that reads as blotches across the whole wall. The brick manufacturer hired the correction, not the homeowner.
What was done
Mineral stain on the off colored units, matched to the brick around them. The file's own words are short: stained to closely match. Stain soaks into the brick rather than coating it, which is why the wall in the 2021 frame still reads as brick.
2021, eight years on
What eight years prove
Same garage, one range across the gable and the return wall. On the certification scale that is Bronze, which covers seven to nine years. As of 2026 the work is thirteen years old, and the 2021 certification is the most recent record on it.
The signed file
Every certified job gets the same form, signed on the day someone goes back to the house. This is the one for case 399, transcribed beside the scan so it can be read on a phone and by a search engine.
